Volunteer Roles
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Oxfam Trailwalker 2010.
Volunteers play a vital role in the event, enhancing the participants’ experience and ensuring the event is successful and safe. Here are some of the roles available. If you hope to join in this event, you need to be able to speak Japanese.
・Trail marking this role involves placing trail markings before and during the event.
・ Sweep Team follows the last team on the trail, ensuring walkers are safely clear of each section, then collects trail markings and ensures the trail is kept in a pristine condition.
・Interpreter there are many participants from overseas, so we need interpreter.
・Trail Marshal cheers and gives directions and information to Trailwalkers at key spots along the 100km trail.
・Parking Marshal directs staff/volunteer/support crew/participant vehicles to appropriate areas at checkpoints.
・Team Check-In/Check-Out Operator supports the staff who manage the computer system at checkpoints to check-in and check-out participants.
・Food & Beverage Attendant maintains and distributes hot/cold drinks and snacks for hungry and thirsty participants and staff.
