Oxfam Trailwalker started as a military training exercise run by the Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment in Hong Kong in 1981. Trailwalker has become a global phenomenon with an impressive 15 trails in 12 countries in 2011. Since it began in 1981, 128,000 walkers around the world have successfully taken on Oxfam’s challenge. Thanks to each and every one of them, $53 million has been raised to help overcome poverty and injustice.
