■CAUTION: Be careful when training on the course during winter!!

With 2 months to go until Oxfam Trailwalker Japan 2010, some participants have started their training.

Currently, snow is thawing around the Trailwalker course area, and ground condition is expected to be wet and slippery.
It is forcasted to rain this weekend, so please prepare yourself with rain gears and other equipments.

Please refrain from undertaking training hikes if you are inexperienced in hiking in extreme weather conditions.
If you are training on the course, please reconfirm the following points:


* Clothes: prepare yourself for cold weather. Wear warm layers of cloths, gloves and hats etc.
* Shoes: wear mountain shoes. NO running shoes (this applies to hiking the course at any time)
* Carry portable food, flashlights and cell phones
# Also refer to “Items to carry - checklist”; this is the minimum level of equipment required during winter.


* Confirm the weather information and do not hike if bad weather is expected
* Plan with flexibility, avoid risks and do not go beyond your comfort zone or your fitness ability.
* Never go climbing alone, and stay together when hiking in a party.

Mountain climbing in winter contains has a higher risk of accident.
Careless mistakes may lead to fatalities.
Please act responsibly and with utmost caution.
