Trail information: 19th March updated

■CAUTION: Be careful when training on the course

This coming weekend is a chance for you to train for Trailwalker! Currently, snow is thawing around the course area, but some snow still remains in shady areas. Ground conditions are expected to be muddy and slippery due to snow and rain. The recent weather has been fluctuating unexpectedly between warm and cold days so please check the weather forecast and prepare the correct equipment for your hikes accordingly.

If you are training on the course, please reconfirm the following points:

[ Equipment ]
* Clothes: prepare yourself for cold weather. Wear warm layers of cloths, gloves and hats etc.
Also refer to “Outdoor wear requirements” presentation by Descente.
http://www.slideshare.net/OxfamTrailwalkerJapan/20100310-tw-e2
* Shoes: wear hiking boots or trail shoes. NO running shoes.
* Carry portable food, flashlights and cell phones
# Also refer to “Items to carry – checklist” on Map Book P12

[ Behaviour ]
* Confirm the weather information and do not hike if bad weather is expected
* Plan with flexibility, avoid risks and do not go beyond your comfort zone or your fitness ability.
* Never go climbing alone, and stay together when hiking in a party.
